OUR FACILITIES

element29 has a purpose-built, fully-equipped and fully-serviced, laboratory that is dedicated to patina research and development. This is connected to a laboratory that has been designed to handle large-scale specialised or hazardous chemical operations and that is devoted to patination, etching and material processing.

element29 has access to the world-class studio of Marie Louise Kold, which provides additional space for very large works.
Our laboratories are supported by an extensive workshop that is equipped for sheet metal cutting, construction of positioning jigs, support frameworks, woodworking and general light engineering. We also have furnaces for casting copper, bronze or brass.

element 29 takes seriously its responsibilities towards safeguarding the environment. Our processes have been developed to minimise the use of energy, reagents and solvents. All waste is processed to precipitate transition metals as insoluble compounds from which metals can be recycled. All acids and basis are neutralised and diluted extensively before disposal according to best practice and in full compliance with national and local legal requirements.
